Candidate Gibardi, seeking the Republican nomination for mayor, was reached to respond to some questions about the Republican contest:

Until June 2022, he served as Marlboro’s Republican Municipal Chairman, he said. "I'm the guy who got the last four elected Republicans in Marlboro." He added that he is Councilmember DiNuzzo's brother.

He said he is concerned about over-development and traffic congestion in the township and wants to explore changes to the Affordable Housing Plan.

He said his background in financial services is valuable, citing his career as president/CEO of a federal credit union. He said he hopes to use his expertise to increase revenue for the township. "It has provided me with the experience needed to govern in today’s world," he said.

Also on his team is Heather M. Maloney-Plantamura, running for nomination to the council.
