Friends of Marlboro Gunshot Victim Spark Fundraising Efforts
Michael Rosenberg, 32, was shot in the head in March after a home invasion in Marlboro Township.

A Marlboro homeowner was shot in the head and robbed during a home invasion on March 19, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.
The victim was Michael Rosenberg, 32, of Girard Street. The incident occurred at 9:45 p.m. in Rosenberg's home, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.
Marlboro Police confirmed the incident, and referred all questions to the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office. Charlie Webster, MCPO Public Information Officer, said the investigation remains open.

Patch learned of the incident this week through a fundraising effort for Rosenberg's bills.
On May 20, a Go Fund Me site was established to fund Rosenberg's ongoing medical bills. The site said, "He has no parental support, no money, no insurance, no assets… all he has is you."

"The victim of a terrifying home invasion, Rosey was robbed, shot in the head, and left for dead. Having other plans, Michael miraculously held on. Almost a full day after the assault, he was found clinging to life by his worried friends, and immediately rushed to the trauma unit."
The fundraising site details Rosenberg, or "Rosey," spent a full month in the hospital and another in an inpatient rehab facility.
As of May 22 at 3 p.m., the site has raised $16,913 for Rosenberg in just two days, with a goal of $20,000. Over 1,000 people have shared the site on Facebook.
