Grants Totaling More Than $193,000 Coming To Marlboro

Mayor Jonathan Hornik announces $193,493 in grants from state agencies. In addition, a $66,000 grant for playground improvements awarded.

MARLBORO, NJ — The township has been awarded a total of $193,493 in various grants this week, Mayor Jonathan Hornik announced.

He said he will request that the Township Council amend the budget to include these funds at its meeting scheduled for June 15.

  • Clean Communities Grant: $107,004.74 from the Clean Communities Council in partnership with New Jersey State Department of Environmental Protection.
  • Distracted Driving Grant: $12,250 through the New Jersey Department of Transportation Division of Highway Safety.
  • Recycling Tonnage: $45,890.65 from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
  • Stormwater Assistance: $25,000 from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.
  • Opioid Settlement: $3,347.31 from the National Opioid Settlements Implementation.

In addition, at the April 20 Township Council meeting, Hornik announced receipt of a $66,000 grant from the State of New Jersey for playground improvements.

“I am pleased report that Marlboro has received these awards. We constantly look for opportunities to obtain outside funding to ease the burden on local taxpayers,” Hornik said.
