High Fives And Cupcakes Greet Marlboro Police At Goddard School

Marlboro police participated in a Law Enforcement Appreciation Day event at the Goddard School in Marlboro.

MARLBORO, NJ— Kids at the Goddard School in Marlboro looked very happy to host members of the Marlboro Police Department on Law Enforcement Appreciation Day Jan. 9.

"Thank you to our friends at The Goddard School for the invitation on Law Enforcement Appreciation Day; the cupcakes were great too," the department said in a Facebook post.

Members of the department told the children about the work they do in the community, and made some friends with lots of "high fives."

National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day was started in 2015 by several organizations as a way to express gratitude for officers, recognizing the challenges they have faced in recent years.

And it looked like the visit was a nice break from a tough job.

"We want to say a big thank you to all our officers," the school said.
