JCP&L to Conduct Aerial Inspections in Marlboro and Colts Neck

JCP&L will be conducting aerial inspections of power lines between September 8 and September 12 over Marlboro and Colts Neck.

Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L) will perform aerial inspections of its overhead transmission power lines in Burlington, Middlesex, Monmouth and Ocean counties. These inspections help prevent tree-related outages by ensuring proper clearances around electrical equipment.

The helicopter patrols support JCP&L’s tree trimming program for 2014 and are scheduled to begin September 8 and conclude September 12, weather permitting. The patrols are conducted twice each year to help identify areas where maintenance to the transmission system could be needed.

JCP&L previously announced plans to invest $251 million in 2014 on service reliability enhancements and other work.
