School Bomb Threat Leads to Arrest of 12-Year-Old
School bomb threat evacuations are up 27 percent in New Jersey this year.

A suspicious note found on April 16 in Marlboro Memorial Middle School led to the evacuation and search of the school, and the arrest of a 12-year-old student the next day according to police.
Information about the student and charges is sealed due to age. Marlboro Township Detective John Bise made the arrest.
The child was processed and complaints forwarded to the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office for filing, according to Marlboro Police Chief Bruce Hall.

The suspicious note was found just one day after the Boston Marathon bombing, which led authorities to heighten protocol which included busing students off of the property and sweeping the school with K9 units.
According to NJ.com, suspicious calls and notes leading to evacuations in New Jersey schools rose 27 percent this year. This included 19 evacuations in April.

On April 16 alone, Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School in Union County was also evacuated due to a threat which was found unsubstantiated. Woodbridge and Edison High Schools were also evacuated due to threats.
NJ.com reported most threats were through suspicious notes or graffiti.
