Large Home Destroyed by Stubborn Fire in Morganville

No one was injured in the fire, but the house did collapse on itself.

A Deerfield Road home was destroyed early Saturday morning after firefighters battled to control the large blaze.

According to the Robertsville Fire Co. Facebook page, the blaze broke out around 4:45 a.m. and was dispatched as a basement fire, first responders on scene found the blaze large and involved.

No one was injured in the fire, according to the Asbury Park Press, but the house did collapse on itself. 

The Marlboro Fire Company, Morganville Fire Company and Manalapan's Gordon's Corner Fire Company were dispatched to the scene to provide mutual aid. Eventually, South Old Bridge was also dispatched. Colts Neck and East Freehold were dispatched to standby and cover the township.

"We would like to thank all for their assistance as this stubborn fire raged for hours due to the size and construction of the house. An excavator had to be special called to assist in hitting all the hotspots," firefighters on the Robertsville Fire Co. Facebook page said.
