Marlboro Burglary Police Chase Reached 120 MPH: Report

Video from the Marlboro officer's dashcam shows the chase before it was halted due to safety concerns, the report said.

MARLBORO, NJ — Footage of a high-speed chase involving suspected car thieves was captured by Marlboro Police, News 12 New Jersey reported.

In the footage, the suspects can be seen getting into a white car before police follow them down Walnut Drive.

Police told News 12 that the chase happened on Sept. 5, and was called off on Route 34 when the suspect hit speeds of nearly 120 mph before getting away.

On Monday, Marlboro Mayor Jonathan Hornik and Police Chief Peter Pezzullo issued a joint statement responding to resident concerns about the chase, as well as another attempted burglary that happened within the same week.

According to the statement, one person was arrested on the same day as the chase after police found them casing out a neighborhood and interfering with an investigation.
