Marlboro Fire District 3 Adopts $1.7M Budget

The annual election for the office of Fire Commissioner and Budget Referendum will be held on Feb. 16, 2013

Marlboro Fire District 3 adopted a $1,794,800.00 budget after a public hearing on Jan. 14.

According to public notice, $1,000,850.00 will be raised by local taxes for 2013.

Operating appropriations:
Current Operating Expenses: $862,800.00

  • Debt Service $0
  • Total Capital Improvements $600,000.00
  • Reserve for future Capital Outlays $230,000.00
  • Length of Service Award Program $102,000.00

Total appropriations: $1,794,800.00

Total revenues and fund balance utilized to defray taxation: $ 793,950.00

Amount to be raised by taxes: $1,000,850.00

In 2012, the District 3 fire commissioners voted to allow renovations at Morganville Independent. Members of Independent were previously combined with Morganville Volunteer members, until tensions grew high between the groups and it was decided Independent would become fully functional again.

Independent is currently moving forward with plans and funding for renovations at the Route 79 location. 

The annual election for the office of Fire Commissioner and Budget Referendum will be held on Feb. 16, 2013.

Polls will be open between the hours of 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the Morganville Volunteer Fire Company.
