Marlboro Fire Officials: Don't Mess With Fireworks
John Borden, Inspector/Fire Sub-Code Official in Marlboro said getting caught with fireworks is a Class C misdemeanor in New Jersey.

It's simple enough; fireworks are illegal.
Fire officials in Marlboro Township want to remind residents that it is illegal to possess, sell or use fireworks. Sparklers, cherry bombs and anything else you can think of is off limits.
John Borden, Inspector/Fire Sub-Code Official in Marlboro said getting caught with fireworks is a Class C misdemeanor in New Jersey.
17,000 fires in the United States were reportedly caused by fireworks in 2011, according to Borden. 9,000 injuries were treated that year, and an average of 5 people die every year from fireworks injuries.
Sparklers account for 24% of the injuries to children, most under the age of 15. Sparklers burn at over 1,200 degrees.
So leave it up to the professionals, and join the township at Town Hall on July 7 for the legal fireworks show.
