Marlboro HS Supervisor Recognized For NJ Director Of Athletics Of The Year Award
Dave Ryden, the school supervisor of extracurricular activities, received the award from the DAANJ and was recently honored by them.
MARLBORO, NJ — The Supervisor of Extracurricular Activities at Marlboro High School has been named the Athletic Director of the Year by the Directors of Athletics Association of New Jersey (DAANJ) and was recently honored by the association.
In recognition of his leadership and dedication to athletics, Dave Ryden was presented with the NJ Athletic Director of the Year Award for 2025.
The award comes as a result of peer recognition from athletic directors across the state, and speaks to Ryden’s contributions to the field, officials said.

He was formally honored at the DAANJ’s Annual Awards Dinner on March 13.
“This is the highest honor bestowed by the association, recognizing Mr. Ryden's exceptional leadership and dedication to athletics,” the Freehold Regional High School District said in an online post. “Congratulations!”

Ryden has been a SECA for the past 19 years in the Freehold Regional High School District and has been a teacher since 1995, according to school officials.
As a member of the Shore Conference of High Schools, Ryden is currently the Coastal Division VP, Webmaster and Chairman of the Football Committee, and serves as the Girls' & Boys' Tennis Tournament Director and Volleyball Tournament Director.
On the DAANJ Executive Board, Ryden serves as the Monmouth and Ocean Counties representative, and has held the position of President, President-Elect and Treasurer in the past.
