Marlboro Man Charged In Old Bridge Home Break-In, Police Say

The man has been accused of specifically targeting the home in order to steal valuable chandeliers, police said.

MARLBORO, NJ — A Marlboro Township man was arrested and charged in connection with a home break-in in Old Bridge, the Old Bridge Police Department said.

On Tuesday, Old Bridge Police responded to a report of a burglary in progress on Yellowstone Drive.

Once officers arrived, they saw a man fleeing the area on foot, who was later apprehended following a brief pursuit. The man was identified as Matthew A. Missak, 27, of Marlboro, police said.

Following an on-scene investigation, authorities determined that Missak had specifically targeted the home to steal valuable chandeliers.

The chandeliers required a specialized key in order to be lowered, which Missak was found to have in his possession at the time of his arrest, police said.

Missak was charged with burglary, criminal mischief, theft by unlawful taking, resisting arrest and eluding officers, according to police. He was then brought to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center.
