Morganville Woman, 29, Indicted on Holmdel Jewelry Theft

The Morganville woman had also been arrested on shoplifting charges three years ago.

A Morganville woman has been indicted on theft charges from an incident that took place in Holmdel, according to Monmouth County court records.

Melissa Perna, 29, is alleged to have stolen jewelry from a Holmdel victim, listed as “M.B.” in court records. The jewelry was valued in excess of $500 and was taken some time between April 1 and July 25, 2014.

Perna was indicted on third degree Theft, and also third degree Fencing, for ”trafficking in stolen property” on July 26 in Marlboro.

According to The Record, Perna was arrested in 2011 for shoplifting over $300 in merchandise from a Target in Clifton.

Officers investigating Perna after viewing security footage at Target discovered merchandise in her vehicle from other stores and supermarkets, and charged her with Receiving Stolen Property at that time as well.
