MARLBORO, NJ — Turning 105 years old on Dec. 14, Anna Smith was surrounded by her friends and staff at Chelsea at Marlboro.

There was the usual rendition of the "Happy Birthday" song and a cake that was shared.

But the theme of the day was thankfulness, as Anna said in her words before those assembled for her special day at the senior living community.

Smith has been close with her nephew all his life, and he's been by her side to celebrate many of her birthdays, including this 105th one at Chelsea, the staff said.
