Nine Unlocked Cars Burglarized in Colts Neck

Police are investigating car burglaries, including some within garages.

Cars unlocked, garage doors left open. Burglars delight.

Nine cars have been burglarized in Colts Neck over the past two days, according to Colts Neck Police. All of those cars, according to police, were unlocked.

The break-ins occurred between late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning, on "various streets around the township." Some cars were discovered unlocked in open garages.

Stolen property includes loose coins, gift cards, cash and electronics including laptops and GPS units.

"We would like to remind all of our residents to lock your car doors even when they are parked in your driveway overnight, as well as closing your overhead garage doors overnight, help reduce the possibility of someone going in and taking your property," a news release from Colts Neck Police said.
