No Children Injured in Monday Afternoon Bus Accident

The accident occurred on Monday afternoon on Rt. 79 and Old Mill Road.

A school bus collided with a car on Monday afternoon, leading the driver of the car to be transported to CentraState Hospital from the scene.

Marlboro Police said the accident occurred at 3:30 p.m., just minutes before a pedestrian accident on the other side of town. No children were on the school bus at the time.

Sharon Witchel, Director of Special Projects, Grants, and School/Community Relations for the Marlboro School District said the bus did not belong to the K-8 district.

The Freehold Regional High School District had not gotten back to Patch as of 1:30 p.m.

Police temporarily shut down the area, near Ryan Road while the accident was cleared. Captain Steve Mennona said at least one air bag was deployed in the car, but was unsure the seriousness of any injuries.
