'No-Shave November': Marlboro PD Makes Donation To Autism Cause
The Parents Of Autistic Children organization was the recipient of $6,000 from the "no-shave" fundraiser.

MARLBORO, NJ — POAC, the Parents Of Autistic Children organization, posted a big thank you to the Marlboro Township Police Department for its "No-Shave November" fundraising efforts.
The department was able to donate $6,000 to POAC, the department said in a Facebook post, as the department members did without shaving to raise awareness - and funds - for the organization.
"A huge thank you to Marlboro Township Police Department PBA 196 and FOP Lodge 15 for their generous donation of over $6,000 to POAC We thank everyone at Marlboro PD for their dedication and support of individuals with autism," the organization posted.

POAC provides hundreds of events for the autism community, according to its website.
Programs include training for parents and educators; recreational and support services to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families; and training for police and first responders which is saving the lives of children/adults with autism throughout the state.

POAC funded the first statewide program for the early detection of and intervention for children with autism. The needs of the autism population are growing, the organization says.
New Jersey has the highest rate of autism in the entire country with 1 out of every 35 children born today having autism, the organization says.
