Thomas Ward Geran, Former Marlboro Township Volunteer, Dies at 87
Tom was on the Monmouth County Board of Agriculture for many years and the Marlboro Township Farmland, Historic, Open Space Preservation Committee.

Thomas Ward Geran, 87, of Morganville, Marlboro Township, passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge.
Born in Kearny, he has resided in Morganville for his entire life. He attended Blair Academy and attended a college in Tulsa, Oklahoma, before working as a hydrolic engineer for Northern Equipment in Newark. Tom was a World War II Army Air Force Sergeant. He loved his family farm, Glengeran Farm. He was on the Monmouth County Board of Agriculture for many years and the Marlboro Township Farmland, Historic, Open Space Preservation Committee.
He was predeceased by his parents, Elmer Henderson and Lysbeth Ward Geran. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Jeanette Sandford Geran; his two children and their spouses, Elmer Sandford and Lisa Geran of Morganville and Laura S. Geran-Cooke and Robert J. Cooke of Mount Joy, Pennsylvania; two siblings and brother-in-law, Charles Geran, and Barbara and Bob Doughtry.
Friends and family are invited to visit Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and Monday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold.
