Officials: Fire at Wendy's on Route 9 in Monmouth County Caused by Deep Fryer
The fire occurred a deep fryer station, authorities have reported.

A fire that occurred at a Wendy’s on Route 9 was caused by a deep fryer, police have reported.
According to Manalapan Township Police Department Lieutenant Thomas Barstow, patrols responded to the Wendy’s on Route 9 southbound in the township on Monday, December 15, at approximately 11:29 a.m., for a reported deep fryer fire.
The restaurant had been evacuated when officers arrived, and there were no reported injuries. Gordon’s Corner Fire Company and the Englishtown Fire Company responded and were able to contain and extinguish the fire.

The fire was located at a deep fryer station and the damage was contained to that general area, according to Lt. Barstow.
Monmouth County Fire Marshals have deemed the fire accidental. The Wendy’s remained closed for the day for clean-up, and its re-open is under the determination of the Manalapan Township Health Department.
