1 Man Killed On Route 9 In Marlboro, Road Closed
The driver crashed with another car while trying to make a U-turn onto Route 9 South headed into Manalapan.

MARLBORO, NJ — A 20-year-old man from Freehold Township was killed as a result of a serious car crash that closed down Route 9 on Thursday morning, according to the Marlboro Township Police Department.
The incident happened at around 6 a.m. The 20-year-old was driving a Nissan Altima and tried to make a u-turn onto Route 9 South headed into Manalapan when it crashed with a Cadillac SUV that was in the left lane of Route 9 North.
The driver of the Cadillac, also a resident of Freehold Township, was not injured.

The 20-year-old, however, was taken by ambulance to Centra State Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
There were no other passengers in either vehicle.

Route 9 was closed in both directions from the Manalapan border to Route 520 while emergency personnel was on the scene.
Police said that at this time it does not seem like alcohol or drugs were a contributing cause of the accident.
The crash is being investigated by Ptlm. Michael Morgante from the Marlboro Township Police Department Traffic and Safety Bureau.
