Teen Boy, 74-Year-Old Man Seriously Injured In Crash On Route 18: Police
The accident occurred Tuesday afternoon when three vehicles collided on the southbound side of Route 18, Marlboro Police said.
MARLBORO, NJ — Two people sustained serious injuries following a three-vehicle crash on Route 18 south Tuesday afternoon, Marlboro Police Captain Stephen Levy told Patch.
The accident occurred around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday when three vehicles — a Jeep Pickup Truck, a Ford Van, and an Isuzu Box Truck — collided on the southbound side of Route 18 near the Tennent Road exit, Levy said.
The crash led to the road being shut down while police and emergency personnel responded to the scene and didn’t reopen until around 6:30 p.m.

Both occupants of the Jeep, a 13-year-old boy from Colts Neck and a 74-year-old man from Colts Neck, sustained serious injuries and were brought by medivac helicopter to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, police said.
Neither occupant of the van nor the box truck were injured, and drugs or alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors, Levy said.

As of Wednesday morning, the cause of the crash is still under investigation led by Ptlm. Aaron Murdock of the Marlboro Police Traffic & Safety Bureau.
