Sheriff Golden to Honor Chief Walker at BBQ in Marlboro

Sheriff Shaun Golden will honor the late Marlboro Police Chief Joseph Walker at a BBQ on Friday with the Marlboro GOP Council Candidates.

The event will honor Marlboro veterans and first responders, and members of Chief Walkers family will be in attendance. For more information or to RSVP, please email  marlborocandidates4council@gmail.com. Rain date is Saturday Aug. 17.

In Marlboro Walgreens on Route 9 South is now open for business,  the first store in the new Marlboro Commons to open its doors.  

In Colts Neck, the township is looking to its residents for information about the local wildlife. A survey, available online through the township website, asks residents about their perception of the deer population in recent years, their level of concern about deer, and what would be acceptable management techniques.

And in case you missed it, Sophia Garito of Colts Neck won at the United States Association of Independent Gymnastic Club World Championships title for Freehold Gymnastics Club less than one year after breaking her foot on the balance beam. Congrats, Sophia!
