Shop Marlboro Saves Residents Almost $20,000 in First Year
It's estimated residents will save a total of $60,000 within the next year.

In its first year, the Shop Marlboro program saved residents close to $20,000 on their tax bills, according to Carmine de Falco.
de Falco, Managing Director of Fin Credit, said residents spend $360,000 in township bounds with participating businesses during the first shopping year, which ended in April.
Council President Frank LaRocca said the savings on his tax bill from the program were greater than this year's municipal tax increase.
"If you take advantage of it, you've probably seen your taxes go down," LaRocca said.
Between May of this year and April of next, de Falco said it's estimated residents will save a total of $60,000 and local purchases through the program will meet $1 million.
Councilwoman Carol Mazzola said 2,500 residents are participating in the program and 46 businesses have enrolled.
Shop Marlboro cards are still available at Town Hall and Investors Bank and Shop Marlboro is on Facebook.
