Six Run for Seats on Board of Education
Board of Education candidates will be elected in the general election on Nov. 5.

Four seats are up for grabs on the Marlboro Township Board of Education, and in November six residents will fight for them.
Incumbents Victoria Dean and Michael Lilonsky will run to keep their seats. Lilonsky is Board of Education President, while Dean is Vice President.
Both Dean and Lilonsky's seats are three year terms. Challenging the incumbents are newcomers Rajashree Dixit and Dara Enny.

Dean is currently facing state ethics charges in the School Ethics Commission. The complaint alleges Dean simultaneously used her standing on the board and as a local republican to make a public donation at a Knights of Columbus event earlier this year.
Dean said the donation of money to purchase an iPad was charitable, and a sign thanking her which identified her as both a Marlboro Republican Club member and the Board of Education Vice President was a mistake.

Debbie Mattos will run to keep her in a one-year term seat, which the board appointed her to this year after former board member Joe Waldman stepped down from his position earlier this year.
Challenging Mattos is Paul Schlaflin, a former Marlboro Zoning Board member who stepped down after a local ethics board ruling in 2010. Schlaflin was cleared of that charge after a decision by the state.
Three full-term seats will be chosen on the November ballot, and one seat from the one-year term column.
