Springsteen Guitars, Autographed Posters Up For Auction

You can bid on a guitar signed by Bruce Springsteen and Keith Richards, as well as a book copy signed by The Boss and Barack Obama.

COLTS NECK — Several items signed by New Jersey native Bruce Springsteen are up for auction at WhyHunger’s annual Hungerthon.

The event raises money for and awareness about hunger and poverty. Springsteen is one of its major celebrity supporters.

This year you can bid on a Fender Squier Telecaster guitar signed by Bruce Springsteen and Keith Richards until Dec. 15 at 7:10 p.m. With an estimated value of $5,000, the guitar's highest bid was $1,300 as of Thursday evening.

There is also a copy of the recently released book titled "Renegades: Born in the USA," signed by both Obama and Bruce Springsteen.

The former president was at The Boss' Colts Neck home for an interview aired in October about their co-authored book and the podcast they started together.

Obama said his best memory in the Colts Neck farm was driving the musician's 1960 corvette.

"I will confess that the secret service, normally I'm good about alerting them but...I just took off. And in the review mirror, I could see some of my agents running behind," said.

The auction also includes a series of Bruce Springsteen autographed posters and portraits, including a "High Hopes" poster and a limited edition "Springsteen on Broadway" poster.

Another Bruce Springsteen guitar will also be sold at the Guitar Icons: A Musical Instrument Auction to Benefit Music Rising auction.

The opening bid for the signed Fender Butterscotch Blond American Original '50s Telestar will be $5,000.

"This American Original '50s Telecaster replicates all the most sought after features of the early Telecasters with some contemporary quality of life upgrades," the catalog reads.

The auction includes guitars from a series of other famous musicians like Paul McCartney, Bono, Elton John and Lenny Kravitz.
