Stolen Dirt Bikes Found, NJ Man Arrested Following Facebook Marketplace Tip

The bikes were found in Morganville after a Pennsylvania resident saw his stolen bike listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace, police said.

MARLBORO, NJ — Marlboro Police recovered multiple stolen dirt bikes after receiving a tip from a Pennsylvania resident who found his stolen bike listed for sale on Facebook Marketplace.

On Sept. 24, police said they recovered the stolen bikes in Morganville and arrested a resident after receiving the tip from the PA resident.

According to authorities, the bikes had been stolen during a residential burglary in Bensalem, PA, on Sept. 17.

After recognizing one of the stolen bikes online, the victim reported their discovery to Marlboro Police.

The suspect, later identified as Alex Soumine, 19, of Morganville, was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a fraudulent vehicle title, police said.

Following his arrest, a search warrant was executed at his home, where police said several other stolen dirt bikes were recovered.

Soumine was charged with seven counts of receiving a stolen motor vehicle, one count of forgery, one count of obstruction and one count of resisting arrest, police said.

He was then brought to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution. The case remains active, police said.
