COLTS NECK, NJ — An Atlantic City teen driving a Cadillac XT6 stolen out of Wall Township was arrested in Colts Neck this past Sunday.

The teen, under 18 so his name was not released, was chased by police onto Due Process Stables golf course in Colts Neck, which is near the Parkway.

The dramatic incident unfolded at 7:25 a.m. Sunday: At that time, a Kia Sportage, stolen out of Atlantic City, crashed near Exit 100 on the Parkway south (the exit for Rts. 33/66, Ocean Grove, Bradley Beach, Freehold, Asbury Park and Neptune City).

The three teens in the car, two boys and a girl, got out of the Kia and ran.

When State Police arrived at the scene of the crash, they discovered the Kia was reported stolen out of Atlantic City. Troopers and Tinton Falls Police established a perimeter, and located two of the teens: Quamir Kirkland, 18, of Franklin Township in Somerset, and a teen girl from Mount Laurel were arrested.

But then — just minutes later — Wall Township Police reported a Cadillac XT6 was just stolen from a home near the crash scene.

Police say the third occupant of the Kia, a teen boy from Atlantic City, had fled into a residential development in Wall Twp. and stole the Cadillac.

Troopers observed the stolen Cadillac driving north on the Parkway and tried to pull it over. The Cadillac failed to stop, and a vehicle pursuit was initiated.

The pursuit ultimately ended at the golf course in Colts Neck, where the third teen boy was taken into custody. During the pursuit, that teen struck two State Police cars with the Cadillac.

Kirkland was charged with Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Resisting and Utilizing Juveniles in the Theft of a Motor Vehicle. The teen girl was charged with Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Resisting. The underage teen boy was charged with two counts of Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Resisting and eluding, two counts of Aggravated Assault on a Trooper, and two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Kirkland remains in the Monmouth County Jail; the underage teen boy was taken to the Middlesex County Juvenile Detention Center and the teen girl was released to the custody of her guardian.
