The Week Ahead: Swab for Shira at Retro Fitness

In Marlboro

On Nov. 26 and 27, Retro Fitness locations across the east coast are looking to help Marlboro mom Shira Klein find a stem cell donor. Show up between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. at the Marlboro location, and you can register to save a life. All it takes is a swab of the cheek, and you'll be in the national registry until you are in your 60's.

In Colts Neck

The Architectural Review Committee is meeting on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Town Hall.

The third installment of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid is being celebrated at the Colts Neck Library on Wednesday at 4 p.m. with a trivia challenge and raffle to win a copy of the book. Ages 8 and up.

The Township Committee is meeting on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in Town Hall.

 

Weekend Plans

The Score for the Shore Charity Flag-Football event is on Saturday at Marlboro High School. Registration at 7:30 a.m. and kick off at 8 a.m. Teams will consist of a minimum of 10 players with a maximum of 15. Each team will also be asked to make a $300 donation that will be donated to charities for victims of Hurricane Sandy.

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Morganville Independent Fire Co. will be collecting new unwrapped toys and/or gift cards to benefit the children of Union Beach on Saturday, Dec. 1 beginning at noon.

The 22nd Annual St. Clement Craft Show is on Saturday at 9 a.m. in Matawan. The craft show will feature over 80 vendors, wonderful handmade items, 50/50 raffle, food, raffle baskets and live Poinsettias.
