Police earlier in July announced the arrest of one other person from Linden.

A call from a township resident to police about suspicious activity resulted in a car theft arrest Sunday, July 2, police said. Marlboro police responded to the scene and immediately detained a suspect.

After an investigation that included both patrol officers and the detective bureau, the person was arrested and charged with various crimes, including one count of auto theft, three counts of vehicle burglary and four counts of the township's newly enacted local ordinance trespassing with purpose to commit auto theft, police said.

That Linden native was being lodged in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold.

These new charges are part of the investigation of the incident.

Police said it is an example of the effectiveness of the "See Something, Say Something and We Will Do Something” campaign by the township.
