Vandals Set Fire At Tennis Court, Marlboro Police Say

After a brush fire was reported at Falson Park on Monday, police said they found a plastic jug on fire on the tennis court.

MARLBORO, NJ — The tennis court at Falson Park has been closed to the public after vandals set a fire there on Monday, Marlboro Police Lt. Jonathan Gramcko told Patch.

After police received a report of a brush fire in the park, Gramcko said patrols responded to the area and found a small fire on the court.

As the officers got closer, Gramcko said they saw a plastic jug on fire and smelled gasoline. The Morganville Fire Department then responded to the scene and extinguished the fire.

Though the fire was extinguished, the tennis court was still damaged in the incident. On Tuesday, Marlboro Township announced that the court will be closed until further notice.

The incident is under investigation by the Marlboro Township Fire Prevention Bureau.

As of Wednesday morning, Gramcko said there is no known information about any suspects.
