Phone Text Scam Targeting Marlboro Tax Payments, Police Warn
Some Marlboro property owners have been contacted by text about tax sale payments. These texts are scams, police say.
MARLBORO, NJ — It seems some residents with properties on the tax sale list in town have been contacted via text message regarding payment, and police are warning about a scam.
Police said "this message was NOT sent by the Township. The Township will never request payments via text message."
Police also want any resident who may have replied to the email to contact them.

If you replied to this text message and submitted a payment of any kind or gave any of your personal information, contact the Marlboro Township Police Department non-emergency line at 732-536-0100, police said.
