Man Facing Multiple Charges After Vehicle Break-Ins, Attempted Thefts In Marlboro: Police
The 30-year-old man is facing charges of burglary, theft, simple assault and more after he was arrested over the weekend, police said.
MARLBORO, NJ — A West Creek man is facing multiple charges following a string of vehicle break-ins, attempted thefts across town and an assault on a police officer, Marlboro Police Captain Stephen Levy said.
Evan Pinney was arrested over the weekend after Marlboro Police responded to several incidents throughout the community.
According to Levy, police received a 911 call from the McDonald’s on Route 9 regarding an individual repeatedly trying to steal money from a donation bin at the business.

In addition to the McDonald’s incident, police also responded to a resident on Serpentine Drive who shared video footage of a person trying to break into a vehicle while carrying a leaf blower.
Around the same time as the other two incidents, police were advised of a vehicle burglary from a business on the northbound side of Route 9.

Following an investigation by Marlboro's patrol division officers, Levy said Pinney was identified as the suspect and apprehended.
Pinney was charged with burglary, attempted burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, defiant trespass, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, simple assault, criminal mischief and Marlboro Township Ordinance 150-1X (trespassing for the purpose of tampering with a motor vehicle), Levy said.
Following his arrest, Pinney was brought to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold, police said.
