Aberdeen Police Briefs: Drug Arrests, Assaults, and DUIs

Aberdeen Township Police briefs from July 23 through August 5.

The Aberdeen Township Police made the following arrests July 23, 2014 through August 5, 2014:


• Daniel A. Cordero, 26, Riverdale Drive., Aberdeen, was charged with possession of marijuana under 50 grams, possession of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to distribute, and possession of heroin with intent to distribute in a park following an incident on Harrison Ave. on August 2, 2014. At approximately 3:00 PM P.O. Mary Johnston was on patrol and observed suspicious activity in the Harrison Ave. park. Further investigation revealed Mr. Cordero was in possession of a quantity of suspected marijuana, over two hundred packets of suspected heroin, and a quantity of cash. His 2004 Ford Taurus was also seized and he was additionally charged with several motor vehicle offenses. Bail was set at $75,000 with no 10 % option and Mr. Cordero was committed to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in default of bail. P.O. Mary Johnston was assisted in the arrest by P.O. Bart Szulczynski, P.O. Roger Peter, P.O. Vito Turchiano, and Sgt. Michael Lasko.


• Alyssa N. Zboyan, 28, Medford Blvd., Freehold, was charged with disorderly conduct, possession of heroin, possession of a hypodermic syringe, resisting arrest, and weapons offenses following an incident on Church St. on August 3, 2014.At approximately 2:30 AM Sgt. Michael Lasko was on patrol in the area of Lloyd Rd. and Church St. when he observed Ms. Zboyan walking in the roadway. When the sergeant approached her, he observed that she appeared to be intoxicated and she became agitated and combative. She resisted Sgt. Lasko’s attempts to handcuff her. After a struggle, Ms. Zboyan was subdued and taken into custody with the assistance of P.O. Edgar Serrano, P.O. Jeffrey Griffith, and P.O. Matthew McDow. She was subsequently found to be in possession of heroin, two syringes, and a razor knife. Bail was set at $17,500 with no 10 % option and Ms. Zboyan was committed to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in default of bail.

• P.O. Matthew McDow arrested a 70-year-old township man for violation of a court order following an incident on Winter Pl. on August 3.

• John M. Schunck, 30, Elm Place, Aberdeen, was charged with possession of heroin and possession of a hypodermic syringe following an incident on West Concourse on August 3, 2014. At approximately 8:00 PM P.O. Craig Hausmann was dispatched to the area on a report of a suspicious male subject. He contacted Mr. Schunck and observed that he appeared to be under the influence of narcotics and had a syringe sticking out of a pants pocket. He was taken into custody and subsequently found to be in possession of multiple packets of heroin. Bail was set at $7,500 with no 10 % option and Mr. Schunck was committed to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in default of bail.

• Regina J. Washington, 55, Wicker Pl.., Marlboro, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and refusal to submit to a breath test following an incident on Texas Rd. on August 5. P.O. Roger Peter was the arresting officer. He was assisted by Sgt. Matthew Lloyd.

• On July 23 a 43-year-old township man was arrested on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court. P.O. Martin Walsh and P.O. Raymond Campbell were the arresting officers.

• On July 23 a 67-year-old Smith Court man was arrested on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court. Special Officer Ronald Osadacz was the arresting officer.

• P.O. Jessica McDougall arrested a 27-year-old Church St. woman on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court on July 23.

• Dylan A. Boettinger, 20, Ken Gardens, Matawan Ave. in Aberdeen, was charged with possession of cocaine following his arrest on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court on July 23. P.O. Martin Walsh and P.O. Raymond Campbell were the arresting officers.

• P.O. Jessica McDougall arrested a 22-year-old Keyport man on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court on July 23.

• On July 25 Det. Hank Chevalier arrested a 26-year-old township woman for shoplifting that took place on July 24 at Shop Rite, Lloyd Rd. P.O. John Zeller responded to the initial incident.

• On July 25 a 26-year-old Somerset man was arrested on contempt warrants out of Aberdeen and Manalapan municipal courts. P.O. John Young and P.O. Bart Szulczynski were the arresting officers.

• P.O. Craig Hausmann arrested a 62-year-old township man on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court following an incident on Lake Blvd. on July 25.

• A 38-year-old Matawan man was charged with simple assault and criminal mischief following an incident on Hwy. 35 and Cliffwood Ave. on July 26. P.O. Matthew McDow was the arresting officer.

• On July 28 a 40-year-old township man was arrested for simple assault related to an incident on Lower Main St. P.O. Bart Szulczynski was the arresting officer.

• P.O. Anthony Valentino arrested a 20-year-old South Amboy woman on a contempt warrant out of Aberdeen municipal court following a motor vehicle stop on Kort St. on July 30.

• George M. Koblentz, 21, Swider Dr., Parlin, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and failure to maintain a lane following a motor vehicle stop on Lloyd Rd. on July 30. P.O. John Zeller was the arresting officer. He was assisted by P.O. Martin Walsh.

• P.O. John Zeller charged Kathryn A. Troeller, 23, Miller Ave., Holmdel, with possession of hypodermic syringes and other drug paraphernalia following a motor vehicle stop on Lower Main St. on July 30. P.O. Anthony Valentino assisted.

Other police activity during this period included:

• A township man reported he was assaulted while walking on Woodland Drive on July 23. P.O. Martin Walsh responded.

• On July 24 a Gloucester Court resident reported approximately $500 worth of loose change missing from his residence. P.O. Brian Alberti took the report.

• On July 24 P.O. John Zeller responded to a report of a disorderly person at the Cluck-U Chicken restaurant, Hwy. 34.

• P.O. Matthew McDow responded to a report of disorderly persons on Beverly Drive on July 25.

• Special Officer Ronald Osadacz responded to a report of disorderly persons on Lorraine Drive on July 26.

• On July 26 P.O. Mary Johnston responded to a report of disorderly conduct on Mystic Court that began as a road rage incident on Hwy. 35.

• On July 27 a Cashel Drive resident reported that someone broke glass adjacent to her front door. No entry was gained. P.O. Frank Maisano investigated.

• P.O. Mary Johnston responded to a report of illegal dumping on Bank St. on July 27.

• An Ingress way resident reported on July 28 that he deposited a check in his account, then sent a moneygram to the originator of the check. He subsequently learned the original check was fraudulent. P.O. Michael Plant took the report.

• On July 28 P.O. Matthew McDow responded to a report of harassment on Barbara Place.

• On July 29 a Milton Ave. resident reported that sometime during the night his 2010 Honda Civic was stolen from his driveway. P.O. Brian Alberti responded.

• P.O. Anthony Valentino responded to a report of harassment on Lower Main St. on July 29.

• On July 30 a township man reported he was assaulted while walking on Amboy Ave. P.O. Martin Walsh investigated.

• On July 30 a Warren Drive resident reported he received an e-mail from an individual purporting to be from the Internal Revenue Service requesting personal information. P.O. John Zeller took the report.

• P.O. Gus Grivas investigated a report of harassment on Shadylawn Way.

• An Ivy Way resident reported the theft of her garbage can on August 1. P.O. Matthew McDow took the report.

• The license plates were stolen from a vehicle parked on Balmoral Ct. on August 2. P.O. Bart Szulczynski responded.

• On August 2 P.O. Jeffrey Griffith responded to a report of harassment on Myrtle St.

• On August 3 Sgt. Michael Lasko responded to a report of harassment on Euclid Ave.

• P.O. Jeffrey Griffith investigated a report of a suspicious person on Cliffwood Ave. on August 3.

• On August 4 a Riverdale Drive resident reported someone cut his runoff hose. P.O. Mary Johnston took the report.

• On August 5 a Stemler Drive resident reported someone removed 21 PVC fence post caps from her property. P.O. Jeffrey Griffith investigated.

• On August 5 an Imbrook Drive resident reported receiving a call from someone claiming to be from the Middlesex County Treasury Office askingfor credit card information. P.O. Bart Szulczynski responded.

Officers responded to or initiated 635calls for service between July 23 and August5, 2014, including 34 suspicious persons/vehicles; 46 alarms; 38 first aid calls; 16 motor vehicle crashes; eleven disorderly persons, nine domestic violence incidents, eight thefts, twelve noise complaints, three criminal mischief incidents, eight welfare checks, and 271 motor vehicle stops. Officers issued 188 motor vehicle summonses.
