
Thomas E. Wilson, 61, of Aberdeen, passed away, Monday, October 29, 2012, at home. He was born in East Orange. He resided in Old Bridge before moving to Aberdeen 35 years ago. He retired from Phelps Dodge Copper Products, Elizabeth, as an engineer.
After he retired, he worked for the fire district; was an assistant coach for baseball and basketball for Aberdeen Recreation; a member of Aberdeen Fire House #1 for 35 years; a volunteer fireman for 42 years; ex-chief of Fire Company Aberdeen; ex-fire commissioner of Aberdeen and a member of the Bayshore Chiefs Association.
Thomas was predeceased by his father, Edward W. Wilson; and a daughter, Cathleen Wilson. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Wilson; a loving daughter, Megan Wilson of Brownwood, TX; a loving son, Timothy Wilson of Arlington, VA; his devoted mother, Lois Brockelman Wilson; siblings, James Wilson and wife, Catherine of Barnegat; John Wilson and wife, Bonnie of South Carolina; Elizabeth Wilson of Old Bridge; Robert Wilson of Old Bridge; and Paul Wilson and wife, Tara of Jackson; six adored nieces and seven nephews; and two grand nieces and four grand nephews. Thomas will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Family and friends are invited Wednesday, November 7, 2012, 4-8 PM; and Thursday, November 8, 2012, 10 at the funeral home, with a 10:30AM funeral service at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ 07735. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park Cemetery, E. Hanover.
