Obituary: William F. Sullivan, 68, of Keyport

William F. Sullivan, 68, of Keyport, passed away at his home on Saturday, October 20, 2012.

Bill was born and raised in Jersey City. He lived in Westfield and summered in Avon for many years, before moving to Keyport several years ago. He was a graduate of Xavier High School, New York, and St. Peter’s College, Jersey City. He was an executive and consultant in the information technology industry, and was employed by A.D.P., New York, for many years, before founding Chelsea Strategic Systems, Jersey City. He was a long-time member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, Union County.

Bill was predeceased by his beloved daughter, Maggie Sullivan Beirne, in 2007. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Brigitte and Ken Kelly, of Madison, his son-in-law, Kevin Beirne, of Illinois, his grandchildren, Maeve, Reagan and Tara Maggie Kelly, and Betsy and Martin Beirne, and his sisters, Barbara Sullivan, of Spring Lake, and Patricia Sullivan, of Cranford.

Visitation will take place at O’Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35, at New Bedford Rd., Wall, on Wednesday, October 24, 2012, from 7-9 P.M. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth Church, Avon, on Thursday, October 25, 2012, at 11 A.M. Committal will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory to Xavier High School, Scholarship Giving, 30 W. 16th St., New York, NY, 10011, would be appreciated.
