Keyport Man Fatally Stabbed Outside Linden TGI Friday's

Police say a Keyport man was fatally stabbed in a fight outside the Linden TGI Friday's Sunday night:

LINDEN, NJ — A Keyport man was fatally stabbed at a TGI Fridays in Linden, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel said Monday.

Erik Kuns, 35, of Keyport, was stabbed and killed Sunday. At around 10 p.m. Linden Police responded to a 911 call of a fight at the TGI Fridays, located at 400 Park Avenue in Linden. Officers found Kuns on the ground, with injuries from a single stab wound.

He was transferred to a local area hospital, where he died.

In an unrelated incident in 2017, a man was shot outside that same Linden TGI Friday's; he survived, according to past media reports.

Police are actively investigating the Nov. 9 fatal stabbing and anyone with information is urged to contact Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force Sergeant Nick Veltre at 908-347-7330, Detective Darius Singletary at 908-632-0537, or Linden Police Department Detective Nick Philippakos at 908-474-8530.
