Man Accused Of Underage Sex Assault Was Once Matawan-Aberdeen Teacher, Assistant Track Coach
An Aberdeen man accused of sexually assaulting two underage girls used to work in the Aberdeen school district, where he was a track coach:

ABERDEEN, NJ — An Aberdeen man accused of sexually assaulting two underage teenage girls in North Carolina used to work in the Aberdeen school district, where he was once a track coach.
William Alston, 34, worked as an instructional aide in the Matawan-Aberdeen Regional school district for less than a year: He started as a classroom aide in January 2023 and resigned in September of that year, according to MARSD superintendent Nelyda Perez, who confirmed his employment.
During that time, Alston also briefly worked as an assistant coach for the Huskies boys' track team for their spring 2023 season.

He abruptly resigned from all employment in the district, including coaching, on Sept. 15, 2023.
Alston also used to work as an assistant track coach at Ridge High School in Basking Ridge. He also previously worked as an instructional aide at Ridge High School in 2021-'22, the year before he came to Aberdeen schools.

Alston was arrested Nov. 7 in Aberdeen Township by the Onslow County, North Carolina Sheriff. Two female juvenile victims in North Carolina, both under the age of 18, accused Alston of sexually assaulting them. Alston is charged with one count of statutory sexual offense with a child by an adult, and four counts of indecent liberties with children.
Accusations against Alston were also made in Aberdeen, which Aberdeen Police are currently investigating, said police.
"The Aberdeen Police Department are conducting a parallel criminal investigation related to offenses alleged to have occurred in their jurisdiction by Alston," said the Onslow County Sheriff's office.
Alston is currently being held in prison in North Carolina.
