Martin Slezak Leads New Jersey Kiwanis with Passion and Purpose

Martin Slezak, the youngest District Governor in New Jersey Kiwanis history, leads with a fresh vision and commitment to service.

KEYPORT — Kiwanis International, with over a century of service to children and families, remains a vital organization across New Jersey. At the heart of this effort is Martin Slezak, the newly elected District Governor of the New Jersey Kiwanis. Slezak, the youngest to hold the position, brings a fresh vision for the future of the organization and a personal connection to its mission.

Slezak’s journey with Kiwanis began when he was awarded a scholarship from the Kiwanis Club of Keyport during high school. That experience opened doors for his education and sparked his lifelong commitment to community service. Now, he leads the organization with a determination to give back, focusing on issues such as youth homelessness, a cause that resonates deeply with him.

"The Kiwanis Club helped set the foundation for my future," Slezak says. "Now, it’s my turn to make sure we’re creating those same opportunities for the next generation."

Driving Kiwanis Forward
As District Governor, Slezak is passionate about expanding Kiwanis’ reach across New Jersey and addressing key community issues. His work includes building partnerships to tackle youth homelessness and creating programs that offer both short-term relief and long-term solutions.
"We’re not just serving numbers; we’re serving real people," Slezak explains. "Every child we help has the potential to shape the future, and that’s what keeps me driven."

Slezak’s hands-on approach and his deep understanding of the struggles facing today’s youth position him as a leader focused on tangible results. Under his guidance, Kiwanis aims to make a lasting difference, both in the short term and through sustained, impactful initiatives.

A Strong Leadership Team
Slezak is supported by a capable leadership team, including Scott Wiese, the District Treasurer, and Helene Meissner, the District Secretary. Together, they bring financial expertise, decades of service, and a shared commitment to revitalizing Kiwanis’ local clubs and expanding membership.

Wiese’s financial acumen ensures that Kiwanis remains fiscally strong, allowing the organization to continue its critical work in supporting educational programs and other initiatives. Meissner, with her 35 years of service to Kiwanis, focuses on growing the organization’s presence while maintaining its core values.

Frank Cahill, the newly elected Governor-Elect, brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the New Jersey District of Kiwanis. With a long history of dedication to community service, Cahill’s role is pivotal in shaping the future direction of the organization. His focus is on strengthening outreach and engaging more members across the state. Cahill’s deep connection to Kiwanis and his strategic vision ensure that the organization continues to thrive, providing vital support to children and families.

Looking Ahead
With Martin Slezak at the helm, the New Jersey District of Kiwanis is poised for growth and continued service to local communities. His leadership marks a new chapter for the organization, blending innovation with Kiwanis’ long-standing commitment to improving the lives of children and families.

"Our work is far from over," Slezak says. "But with every project, every act of service, we’re moving closer to building stronger communities."

Under Slezak’s direction, the New Jersey District of Kiwanis is ready to continue its proud tradition while meeting the evolving needs of its communities, one child at a time.
