Matawan Aberdeen Library to Host Free Screening & Discussion of Film About Environmental Quality Along the Raritan River

Rescuing the River will be screened on Sunday, April 22 at 2 p.m.

The will host a screening and discussion of Rescuing the River on April 22nd at 2:00 pm. The public is invited to attend this engaging, community event, which will explore important policy issues with local impact.

Rescuing the River is a documentary film exploring the history of industrial activity, political activism, and legal action surrounding the cleanup of contaminated sites along New Jersey’s Raritan River, raising questions of legal and moral culpability.

A post-screening discussion based on the historical, cultural, and ethical themes and issues raised by the film will follow, facilitated by Chris Rasmussen, Associate Professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University.

As a participant in Face to Face: Community Conversations, a program of the New Jersey Council for the Humanities (NJCH), a state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Matawan Aberdeen Public Library will be able to offer this event at no cost to participants.
