MATAWAN-ABERDEEN, NJ — Last week, as part of Gov. Phil Murphy's budget, state aid figures were released for all school districts in the state.
The money will be used for the upcoming 2025-'26 school year.

Here is how much state aid the Matawan-Aberdeen Regional school district will receive for the 2025-'26 school year:
- $14.79 million, a three-percent reduction ($457,559) from the $15.2 million MARSD received for the current '24-'25 school year (Find Matawan-Aberdeen Regional on this list: https://www.nj.gov/education/s...)
To make it more equitable as to how state aid is determined, this year the state put a three-percent cap on how much a district could lose, and a six-percent cap on how much more aid it could get, compared to 2024.

This will be the final budget Murphy will prepare in his time as New Jersey governor. There is an election for NJ governor this November.
