Charlie Ross, Suzanne Reynolds Lead Matawan Council Race

ABERDEEN, NJ — The Republicans kept their foothold on the Matawan town Council, with Charlie Ross winning re-election to his council seat and Suzanne Reynolds winning a council seat, according to unofficial race results in Tuesday night.
Four people ran for Matawan town Council, and voters were asked to choose two. All 7/7 precincts are in as of 9:24 p.m. Tuesday, and here are the vote counts from the Monmouth County Clerk:
- Suzanne Reynolds (R) Monmouth County Republican Organization: 2,320
- Charlie Ross (R) Monmouth County Republican Organization - current Matawan Councilman, seeks re-election: 2,317
- John Christopher (D) Monmouth County Democrats: 2,138
- Megan L. Taraszkiewicz (D) Monmouth County Democrats: 2,161
The Matawan Republican Party is counting this as a victory, even though there are still mail-in ballots to be counted.

"We're super thrilled; Suzanne is a hometown girl, third-generation Matawan," said Anissa Esposito, a Matawan Republican Committee chairwoman. "Even with provisional votes that still have to be counted, we are still well within the lead."
Reynolds ran for the seat held by Councilwoman Melanie Wong. There have been two Democrats and two Republicans on the Matawan town council since 2021.

For the Matawan-Aberdeen Regional Board of Education.
From Aberdeen Twp., voters are asked to choose two, 13/13 districts reporting:
- Dianna Pell, Parents Who Lead (current Board president, seeks re-election): 4,166
- Dusty Dyer, Parents Who Lead: 3,284
- Shelley Gershner, Educate. Support. Protect: 2,491
- John "Jack" Montone, Support Our Students: 3,975
From Matawan borough, voters are asked to choose one:
- Katie Feiles, Students First: 2,609
These are not final vote results, and final results will be certified by the Monmouth County Clerk after the election
Aberdeen does not have a town council or mayor election this year.
