Matawan Gym Gets $13K Grant From State To Buy New Equipment
The owners of Paramount Gym on Rt. 34 just received a $13,656 grant from the state to buy new gym equipment.
MATAWAN, NJ — The owners of Paramount Gym in Matawan just received a $13,656 grant from the state to buy new gym equipment.
John Ramsay, co-owner of Paramount Gym, said he heard about the grant program from a friend who is another small-business owner in Monmouth County.
Ramsay said he was able to purchase five new pieces of equipment with the grant money, plus a treadmill.

"We were able to add five new pieces to our already top-of-the-line equipment selection, as well as an additional treadmill," he said. "These new additions not only attracted members, but also enhanced the experience for our current members."
This was through a grant given out by the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, through their Small Business Improvement grant program. The grant program is just for small businesses in New Jersey. It offers reimbursement for costs associated with making building improvements or purchasing new furniture, fixtures and equipment.
