Matawan Resident Involved In Fatal Car Accident In Middletown
A Middletown resident was crossing an intersection of Highway 35 when she was struck and killed by a vehicle driven by a Matawan resident.

A Middletown resident was struck and killed while crossing an intersection of Highway 35 in the township on Monday evening, according to township police.
Nadra Sourial, 75, was crossing the intersection of Harmony Road and Highway 35 northbound at approximately 6:10 p.m. when she was struck by a Hyundai Sonata, according to Middletown Township Police Lieutenant Stephen Dollinger.
The driver of the Sonata, a 70-year-old male from Matawan, was uninjured in the accident, which caused that portion of the highway to be closed for about four hours, according to Lt. Dollinger.

Middletown Township Police were assisted at the scene by Middletown EMS, MONOC Paramedics, New Jersey State Police Incident Management Team and the New Jersey Department of Transportation Highway Response Team.
The crash is being investigated by Corporal Thomas Russo and Corporal Darrin Simon of the Middletown Police Traffic Bureau. Police ask that anyone who witnessed the crash to contact the Middletown Township Traffic Bureau at 732-615-2045.
