Police Use Narcan to Save Life of Holmdel Man, 25, After Drug Overdose
Holmdel Police administered Naloxone (Narcan) to an unresponsive 25-year-old man, after a 9-1-1 call for a suspected drug overdose.

A 25-year-old Holmdel resident was saved from a suspected drug overdose on Thursday, Holmdel police are reporting.
On September 4, at approximately 9:58 p.m., Holmdel Police received a 9-1-1 call from a residence reporting an unresponsive man due to a possible drug overdose. Shortly after, Patrol Officer Menosky arrived on scene and found the subject lying in his bed, and not breathing.
Officer Menosky was able to move the subject onto the floor and began rescue breathing. At this time, Officer McGrath arrived on location for assistance. Officer McGrath began rescue breathing with an ambu bag while Officer Menosky administered the Naloxone (Narcan). A few minutes after the Narcan was administered, the subject’s skin color began to return to a normal tone and he began breathing on his own.

The patient was transported to Bayshore Hospital by the Holmdel First Aid Squad. He was conscious and alert upon arrival, according to Lt. Michael Pigott.
Multiple types of narcotics were recovered at the scene by the Holmdel Police, according to Pigott. The drugs were secured and transported to Police Headquarters for destruction.

The subject was not charged with any crime due to the Overdose Prevention Act.
