Public Meeting April 26 On How To Make Ernston Road Safer

Middlesex County will do safety audits of five major county roads, and seeks public input. The five roads are:

OLD BRIDGE, NJ — Middlesex County will do safety audits of five major county roads, and seeks public input. The roads are:

  • CR 673/ Ernston Road in Sayreville/Old Bridge
  • CR 529/ Stelton Road in Piscataway/South Plainfield
  • CR 617/ Ryders Lane in Milltown/East Brunswick
  • CR 653/ Amboy Avenue in Perth Amboy
  • CR 529/ Plainfield Avenue in Edison

Residents are encouraged to attend public meetings to provide their input on how to make those roads safer. The meetings are:

  • The meeting on Stelton Road is 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. April 8 at Eisenhower Elementary School (360 Stelton Rd., Piscataway).
  • The meeting on Ryders Lane in Milltown/East Brunswick is 6-8 p.m. April 10 at Cedar Village Club House (1 Cedar Village Blvd, East Brunswick).
  • The meeting on Amboy Avenue in Perth Amboy is 10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. April 19, the same day as the Easter Egg Hunt at Albert G. Waters Stadium (300 Eagle Ave., Perth Amboy). Rain date: April 26.
  • The meeting on Plainfield Avenue in Edison will be at the Edison Public Library (340 Plainfield Ave, Edison) 6-8 p.m. April 24.
  • And the meeting on Ernston Road in Sayreville/ Old Bridge will be at the Sayreville Public Library (1050 Washington Road, Parlin) from 2-4 p.m. April 26.

These five roads were identified using data from the High Injury Network (HIN), and seeks to address issues of all travelers, including bicyclists and pedestrians who walk along the roads or try to cross them.
