Results Of New Jersey Sixth Congressional District Primary

ABERDEEN, NJ — Tuesday, June 4 was Primary Election Day.
Here are the preliminary results in the U.S. presidential primary, U.S. Senate and Congress races.
Congressman Frank Pallone, who represents NJ's Sixth Congressional district, was challenged by John Hsu. Hsu, a climate change activist who was a main campaigner for Bernie Sanders NJ in 2020, ran as a more liberal, progressive candidate than Pallone, who has long been part of the Democratic establishment.

Hsu was one of the main critics of a controversial proposed natural-gas Woodbridge power plant, which the energy company killed the plans for last October. This is the second time he has challenged Pallone.
Whoever is chosen from the Democratic primary on Tuesday will run against the rival Republican nominee in November.

Pallone, 72, has represented New Jersey's Sixth Congressional District for the past 34 years, since he was first elected to Congress in 1988. "NJ 6" stretches from Carteret and Woodbridge into Edison, New Brunswick and down to Asbury Park. It hugs the Raritan Bay coastline, including towns such as Aberdeen, Matawan, Hazlet, North Middletown, Sea Bright and West Long Branch.
