Flooding on Route 9 in Middlesex County has prompted commuting delays in the area Monday morning, authorities said.

OLD BRIDGE, NJ - Flooding on Route 9 in Middlesex County has prompted commuting delays in the area Monday morning, authorities said.
As of 7:04 a.m., there’s flooding on Route 9 northbound south of CR 516/Old Bridge Road in Old Bridge, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
One left lane is currently closed, the agency said.

The closure comes amid lingering showers on Monday in the Garden State, slated to bring up to an additional quarter inch of rain across the state. A hazardous weather outlook was issued by the National Weather Service for Middlesex County Monday morning, with minor flooding possible through Wednesday.
