Threat Made To Matawan Regional High School Not Credible, Police Say

ABERDEEN, NJ — Aberdeen Police Chief Matthew Lloyd declined to release any new information about the email threat that was made Monday to Matawan-Aberdeen Regional High School.
It was a school administrator who received the threat Monday evening, over email. The threat was found to be unsubstantiated, said the police chief.
"Our School Resource Officer (SRO), school district staff, along with members of the patrol and detective divisions, immediately initiated a thorough investigation. Based on investigative findings, the threat has been determined not credible," said Lloyd in a Facebook post Monday.

Lloyd said he would not be releasing any more information when Patch asked Wednesday.
"Please be assured that all threats are taken seriously and investigated without delay. Anyone found responsible will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The Aberdeen Township Police Department will continue to maintain a presence at our school buildings to ensure the safety and security of students and staff."
