MATAWAN, NJ — Monday was the filing deadline to run for school board this year in New Jersey.

The election for school board and Aberdeen mayor/town council will be Nov. 4. Here's who is running in 2025:

From Aberdeen Township, vote for two:

  • Sheetal Desai Werneke, Parents Who Lead
  • Michael Mondella, Parents Who Lead
  • William R. Talty, Support Our Students

From Matawan borough, vote for one:

And, with longtime Aberdeen Mayor Fred Tagliarni stepping down, there is a mayoral and council election in Aberdeen this year.

On Nov. 4, voters will be asked to choose one for mayor:

  • Current Councilman Gregory Cannon, Democrat
  • Mark Bishop, Republican

Voters will be asked to choose two for two Council seats:

  • Current Councilwoman Margaret Montone, Democrat
  • Pedro Mirabal, Democrat
  • Lauren Ramos, Republican
  • Michael LaCorte, Republican
