Police ID Woman Killed In Rt. 206 Crash Friday Morning
Three were taken to the hospital after head-on collision.

MT. OLIVE, N.J. – The four motorists involved in a two-car crash Friday morning on Route 206 in Mt. Olive have been identified, including the woman who died from her injuries.
Police responded to the report of a serious motor vehicle crash in Mt. Olive near the Chester Township border at 6:19 a.m. Friday and found a northbound vehicle had crossed the double-yellow lines and collided, head-on, with a southbound vehicle, Sgt. Eric Anthony said.
The northbound vehicle was driven by Jennifer Peralta-Perez, 25, of Plainfield, who had Elida Perez Morel, 45, also of Plainfield as her passenger, Anthony said. Their Nissan Sentra collided with a Saturn Vue driven by Edward Wintermute, 47, of Newton, who had Maria Santos, 61, of Succasunna as his passenger.

As a result of the crash, Wintermute’s vehicle veered off the roadway and came to rest in the grass, Anthony said. Both Peralta-Perez and Wintermute required extrication from their vehicles, and all four were transported to Morristown Medical Center.
Perez Morel died as a result of her injuries at the hospital, Anthony said.

No charges have been filed as the crash remains under investigation, and an icing condition may have been a factor in the collision, Anthony said.
Rt. 206 was closed for about three hours Friday morning.
